Create Class and Add Students
One of the first things that you will want to do after creating a database is to create a class and add students to the class. This allows you to assign specific pads (clickers) to your students and track your student’s individual performances as well as your entire class performance.
To create a class, follow these simple steps:
1. Open CPS software and click the Prepare>Classes and Students tab.
2. The screen will be divided in two, Class Name and # of Students. On the Classes side click New (Green + sign).
3. Select Class.
4. Choose your institution type (K-12) and click Next.
5. Leave the default No for CPSOnline (you don’t need a user name or password.)
6. Complete the Class Information. Only the Teacher Name and Class Name need to be completed.
7. Click Next on this screen and also the next screen that follows.
8. If you have different classes click on “I want to make another class” and repeat the process.
9. If you don’t have another class, click Done.

To add students to a class follow these simple directions:
1. Highlight the class you just created.
2. Click New and select Student.
3. Click each column to complete the information for a student. You must have first name, last name and Pad ID. (Although the Pad ID is automatically assigned it may be changed simply by clicking on the number and typing in the number you want the student to have.) The other boxes are optional.
4. Click Enter key on your computer keyboard and repeat for each student.
5. After entering the last student, click Save.
