As part of St. Paul's Lutheran School Technology Department's continuing effort to integrate technology into the curriculum, this online course will provide you with the basic skills to incorporate the Classroom Performance System (CPS) into your classroom. CPS is a student response system that allows teachers to gather formative assessment from their students through a response pad that looks like a remote control device. These response pads are called “clickers.”
Within this online course, you will have the opportunity to perform the following basic CPS competencies:
· Setup: Install CPS software, create a CPS database, and set up and detect the receiver.
· Prepare: Create classes and lessons prior to students entering the classroom.
· Engage: Allow students to interact with your lessons.
· Reports: View class and student assessments upon completion of lesson.
Assignment Submission
You will have five assignments to complete and submit to receive Professional Learning Unit credit. You will upload a screenshot of the completed assignment as an Microsoft Word file. Save the document as assignment1, assignment2, or assignment3 whichever file name is appropriate at the time. Upload the document under the designated assignment tab.
How to Create and Insert a Screen Shot into Word
By pressing the PRINT SCREEN (PRTSC) button on your keyboard, you capture an image of your entire screen, also known as a "screen shot" or "screen capture.” It is then copied to the Clipboard in your computer's memory. You can then paste the image into a Word document. The Print Screen button is located on your keyboard. On notebook keyboards: look for a button to the right of the F keys. On external keyboards it may be above the arrow keys, near the Delete and Page Up buttons.
